SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every Friday night Taylor and Amy have a date night. This week it was Taylor's turn to plan the date. During the hike for Family Home Evening on Monday the topic of camping came up. Amy has grown up camping all summer long in Flagstaff Arizona so there were ideas exchanged and a trip to Joe's tent sale! Camp chairs, a ice chest, a water cooler, and a dutch oven had all been gifts, but a tent and sleeping bags needed to be purchased. After doing his homework (researching to see what is out there brands, prizes, etc.) without Amy knowing any of his plans Taylor found this!
and these!

On Friday after Taylor got off work it was off to Ensign Ranch (near Cle Elum, WA just passed Snoqualmie Pass) where the fun began! After camp was set (The Smart Family being the only ones in a section of 9 campsites) the exploring started. The Ranch has horseback ridding, canoeing, a rope swing into a lake, shooting range, rock climbing wall, water slide, and much much more.

Saturday morning started off with oatmeal for breakfast. The county had a burn ban so there was no fire or charcoal allowed (just more thinking for Taylor in the planning process!) All meals were planned, prepared and cleaned up by Taylor!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Amy loves camping even MORE!)

To kill some time before the horses the canoes were paid a visit for an hour. Being the only ones on the lake at the time made it easy to maneuver and coast where desired. Then came the horses! Taylor got Ammon and Amy rode Levi on a guided hour ride.

After which came lunch and a much needed nap (the pillows were forgotten). Then it was game time (dominoes and zilch) before time to start preparing dinner. Thanks to family friends (The Noel family) "camping pizzas" were consumed!
Taylor is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (a little goofy but that's one reason he is loved!) A job WELL done!!!
